She then takes the painting home to refine the piece and let it dry before delivering or mailing it to them.

Theresa Kasun is a classically trained en plein air painter whose distinctive style blends the expressive beauty of French Impressionism with the elegance of academic figurative painting. She studied at two of the nation’s top art institutions—the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI), where she focused on French Impressionist techniques, and the New York Academy of Art (NYAA), known for its rigorous training in traditional figurative painting. Mentored by artists like Martha Earlbacher and renowned American Impressionist and professor Wilbur Niewald, Theresa has developed a style reminiscent of a modern-day John Singer Sargent—graceful, emotive, and richly atmospheric.

Where does Theresa Paint Weddings or Live Events?
Theresa Kasun has painted at live events and weddings throughout the tri-state area and beyond, bringing her signature fine art approach to celebrations of all kinds. Her work has taken her across the country—and now, internationally—as she continues to expand her reach. In the summer of 2026, she will travel to Portugal to paint live at a destination wedding, further blending her love of travel, painting, and capturing meaningful moments in real time.
How Much Does A Live Event or Wedding Painting Cost?
Theresa offers three different packages for couples so they can choose the size painting and budget that works best for them, the only difference between her three packages is the size of the painting. Every live wedding painting is a finished work of fine art that is treated with the same amount of love and care as the next. For my live event and wedding oil paintings, I use premium Belgian linen canvas, prized for it’s strength, smooth texture , and vibrant color retention, ensuring a timeless, high-quality keepsake.

Live Watercolor Sketching
An elegant, personalized experience for your wedding, private celebration, or corporate event.
Watercolors are created on high-quality 6 x 8 inch watercolor paper and carefully placed in protective plastic sleeves, ready for pickup at the end of the event. I typically paint 8-10 watercolors per hour.
Guests enjoy watching as each sketch comes to life in real time — a keepsake that captures both likeness and spirit in luminous watercolor.
Artist Rate:
- $1000 for first hour
- $800 for each additional hour
In a 3 hour event, I typically create up to 30 individual sketches. If time does ot allow for all guest to be completed onsite, I’ll finish and mail the remaining portraits to ensure every guest receives their keepsake.
